How much does a gynecologist cost in Warsaw

Prices

These are my prices in Warsaw at ul. Głębocka 9. Payment on site, by card or cash; an invoice is issued on request.

The full list is on the prices page. No referral is needed, no NFZ insurance is needed, and a PESEL number is not required — this is private care, and payment does not depend on your residence status in Poland.

Consultations are held in Polish, Russian and Ukrainian. This site is in English, but appointments are not conducted in English.

What the consultation fee covers

The 290 zł covers everything that happens in the room:

• the conversation — symptoms, history, medication, previous pregnancies and surgery;
• the examination, where it is indicated for your reason for coming;
• collecting the sample for cytology, an HPV test or a swab — the collection itself is not charged, only the laboratory is;
• going through what you bring with you: earlier test results, ultrasound reports, discharge summaries;
• a written report with recommendations, handed to you the same day;
• prescriptions and referrals for tests, where needed.

I do not charge separately for writing a prescription, issuing a certificate, or answering a question about a result I ordered myself. That is part of the visit.

Where a combination is cheaper — and where it is not

Worth working out in advance, because "package" and "discount" are not the same thing. Only two combinations in my price list actually cost less:

The bottom four rows are convenience, not a discount: one booking instead of two, one trip instead of two, one payment. Calling that a discounted package would be dishonest, so I do not call it one.

The practical takeaway: if you are coming for a first visit and a pelvic scan is almost certainly going to be needed, book the combined appointment straight away. That saves 90 zł and a second trip.

What is billed separately

The laboratory. I collect the sample for cytology, an HPV test, a culture or a swab at the visit, but an external laboratory processes it and bills separately. Typical Warsaw figures: cytology 60–120 zł, a high-risk HPV test 150–300, a culture with sensitivity testing 60–130. The exact price comes from the laboratory, not from me, and differs between chains.

Medication and the IUD itself. The intrauterine device is bought at a pharmacy on prescription — it is included neither in the visit nor in the insertion.

Histopathology. If a biopsy is taken during colposcopy, examining the tissue is paid for separately, again at the laboratory.

Private care or NFZ

Under NFZ a gynecologist is free and no referral is required, but you have to register with a poradnia ginekologiczno-położnicza that holds a contract. Two limits apply: the queue — usually weeks in Warsaw, months for some doctors; and appointments are held in Polish.

Private care solves exactly those two things: an appointment usually within a few days, and a consultation in Polish, Russian or Ukrainian without an interpreter. I read Russian and Ukrainian records and results without translation.

A sensible combination many patients use: screening and prevention through NFZ when there is no hurry; private care when it has to be fast, when the conversation needs to happen in your own language, or when a frightening result needs explaining.

Separately: cytology is free under the national screening programme for women aged 25–64 once every three years, at a practice with an NFZ contract. If you fall within that and are not in a hurry, there is no reason to pay for it.

How not to overpay

• Bring your earlier results. An ultrasound report from six months ago, a previous cytology, hormone results — a comparison with last time often removes the need to repeat the test at all.
• Come on the right day of your cycle. Pelvic ultrasound is best between days 5 and 10, breast ultrasound between days 5 and 12. On a poor day the image is worse and the chance of being asked to repeat it is higher.
• Do not order tests in advance "to come prepared". Half of blindly ordered panels turn out to be beside the point, and that money is gone. Choosing the tests after the conversation is cheaper.
• An online consultation at 200 zł works when the results are already in hand and you need to know what they mean and what comes next. An examination or a scan cannot be done over video — that needs a visit.

Booking and payment

You can book by phone on +48 787 060 707, through WhatsApp, or by submitting the form on the booking page — I call back within 15 minutes during working hours. There is no online calendar of free slots: the time is agreed in conversation.

Payment is on site, by card or cash. An invoice (faktura) is issued on request — mention it at the visit if an employer is paying or you need a document for an insurer.
