Gynecological ultrasound in Warsaw
Pelvic, breast and early pregnancy scans cost 250 zł each, a folliculometry visit 160 zł. I do every scan myself and explain it on the screen; the report is yours the same day. This site is in English, but appointments are not held in English — bring someone who can interpret, or tell me in advance and we will find a way.

A full look at the uterus, ovaries and endometrium, finding cysts, fibroids and polyps.
Folliculometry
Tracking follicle growth and ovulation — essential when you are trying to conceive.
Pregnancy ultrasound
An early scan up to 10 weeks: confirming the pregnancy, the heartbeat, dating.
Breast ultrasound
Examining lumps in the breast, or a precautionary check.
Consultation + ultrasound
A full visit: consultation together with a pelvic ultrasound.
Follow-up scan
A repeat scan to see how treatment is working, or to keep something under review.
The two approaches
There are two main ways of scanning in gynecology. Which one is used depends on what needs to be seen and on the individual patient.
Transvaginal ultrasound
The probe is placed in the vagina. This gives the clearest view of the uterus, ovaries and endometrium, showing detail an abdominal scan cannot. There is no need to fill your bladder.
Transabdominal ultrasound
The probe is moved over the abdomen. Used in pregnancy after the first trimester, for a general overview, and for women who have not had intercourse. A full bladder gives a better picture.
When an ultrasound is indicated
What the scan shows
The uterus
Size, position and shape. The endometrium — its thickness and structure. Fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis and developmental anomalies.
The ovaries
Size, structure and the number of antral follicles. Cysts, both functional and endometriotic, tumours and polycystic changes.
How to prepare
Transvaginal ultrasound
No preparation needed. Your bladder should be empty — just use the toilet beforehand.
Transabdominal ultrasound
Fill your bladder: drink 0.5–1 litre of water an hour before, and do not empty it until the scan is over.
The best day of the cycle
A routine scan: days 5–10, just after your period ends, are best for assessing the uterus and ovaries.
Folliculometry: several scans across one cycle.
With acute symptoms: any day.

The practice is easy to reach from Białołęka, Targówek, Bródno and Zielona-Grzybowa, and along Trasa Toruńska from Marki, Ząbki and Nieporęt. No referral or insurance is needed: you can book directly, including if you have just arrived in Poland.
