Gynecological exam in Warsaw
A routine gynecological check-up is the foundation of women’s health. A calm setting, a careful approach and modern equipment for an accurate assessment.
Why a regular check-up matters
Regular visits are about prevention as much as treatment. Many gynecological conditions develop without symptoms, and only a timely examination catches them early.
A check-up at least once a year is recommended even when nothing is wrong. It keeps the reproductive system under review and prevents small problems from becoming serious ones.
What the examination includes
Taking your history
A conversation about your symptoms, your cycle, past illnesses and any plans for pregnancy.
Visual examination
Examining the external genitalia for any visible changes.
Speculum examination
Examining the vagina and cervix using a speculum.
Bimanual examination
Feeling the uterus and adnexa to assess their size, shape and mobility.
Taking swabs
A vaginal swab and, where indicated, cytology (a PAP test).
Advice
Detailed advice based on what was found, and a plan for what happens next.
How the visit goes
Arrival
You arrive, the receptionist completes the paperwork, and you are shown into the room, where there is space to change.
Talking with the doctor
I ask about your symptoms, your last period, contraception and anything else that matters for your health.
The examination itself
The examination is done gently and carefully, with each step explained as it happens. Swabs are taken if needed.
Ultrasound, if needed
Where indicated, a pelvic ultrasound is done at the same visit for a closer look.
Findings and advice
I explain what was found, answer your questions and give advice. Treatment is prescribed if it is needed.
How to prepare
Pick a day in your cycle
Days 5–10 of the cycle work best. With acute symptoms, come on any day.
Washing
Shower before the visit. Avoid douching and vaginal products for 2–3 days beforehand.
No intercourse
Avoid intercourse for 2–3 days before, so the swab results are accurate.
Bring the details
Note down the dates of your recent periods, any medication you take, and your questions.
